Hi Jason. My wife and I met Kirk Demeter and several of his suppliers, including Craig Wickham, last night at the Brick in Roslyn. We have a place at Suncadia and were in town celebrating our Anniversary. My wife, Wendy, works for Expedia so naturally had a lot to chat about with both Kirk and Craig. Both my wife and I are very passionate about travel and I too am interested in pursuing a career in travel with a smaller company like DUA. My background includes over 10 years in sales and business development working in the online ad space, educational software and now online music. Are you aware of any current or future opportunities with DUA? I would be happy to schedule some time with you and or Kirk to discuss in more detail.

Thanks,
Jeff Jensen

Jason,
Great scribe about my backyard of Australia. Having grown up in Sydney you have hit the nail on the head with your detailed highlights. These days I am living in Perth and an area of Australia that doesn't see that many tourists from the US. The Margaret River region is an icon and offers some of the finest wineries on the planet. Margaret River is also home to a great array of surf beaches that are clean and still untouched. There are so many great places to explore in Western Australia from the rugged coastline of towns like Albany to the tranquil beauty of Cable Beach. Look forward to seeing further updates on Australia.
Cheers

Hi Jason, thanks for sharing your traveling story! It´s indeed a great way to make a long traveling hour to Australia seems less challenging.
But IMHO, your much worse traveling experiences won´t do any good to the readers (Do they suppose to feel any better knowing that someone else has a painful trip?). Instead, it could have been better to write about your long, but pleasant flying experience or how a long-flight travel should not be discouraging. Maybe tips on how to ease boredom while flying, or steps to prevent jet-lag will actually be more effective in persuading people to do the long-hours journey?

Hi Jason,
I've recently relocated to Brisbane, from San Francisco - where I worked (Support/Customer Service) with VolunteerMatch.org website. I'm going to be in OZ for at least two years, and am looking for a position where I could get paid to travel...Do you have any suggestions?
Never hurts to ask for what you want!

Yes, I have always wanted to go to Australia, but it wasn't the distance holding me back but the money required to do all that I want to do when I finally get there......LOL. I hope one day to be able to say Crikey from somewhere in the outback, but in the meantime, the savings continue. Ever since my aunt and uncle were there and came back with all the stories, I have wanted to make the trip myself.

It's not bad at all - from LAX - we say Drinks, dinner, 2 Movies, a big sleep, breakfast and you are there! I have been there 9 times and wouldn't trade a Friday Night on Qantas for anything! To wake up and find myself in Sydney, Brisbane or Melbourne - I'm there! Love it! Can't wait to go back!
Off to South Africa next, September 13th, how that flight will be worse! I promise! Much longer! Jason knows that! LOL!
